Dr. Grewal

is an ABIM board-certified internal medicine physician, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Hofstra-NSLIJ School of Medicine, and has admitting privileges at  Lenox Hill Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, and Long Island Jewish Hospital. Paul received his B.A. in cellular and molecular neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University and his M.D. from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School.

He believes that the cornerstone of medicine is a close professional relationship with a patient- the kind that can be developed through time and consistent care.

Having successfully battled obesity himself, Dr. Grewal has special interest in helping his patients with weight loss, nutrition, exercise, hormone optimization, and reversing diseases like Metabolic Syndrome and Type 2 Diabetes using diet and exercise.

Dr. Alexandra Sowa

 is a dual board-certified physician of Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine, specializing in preventive health, weight management and nutrition.  After graduating with honors from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Sowa attended New York University School of Medicine, where she completed both medical school and a residency in Internal Medicine.  

 

Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys her work in the media.  She has published original articles on health related topics in publications like NPR, The Atlantic, Slate Magazine and the New York Daily News.  She has also served as an on-air health expert for national media outlets like Fox News, CBS News, NPR and Inside Edition.  Her medical opinions have been featured in various print publications, from The New York Times and U.S. News and World Report to Glamour and Parents Magazine.

She is passionate about optimizing health through food.  You can often find her making healthy meals (and a mess!) for her husband and two young sons in the kitchen.
